What is an FTX?

FTX stands for Field Training Exercise. An FTX is a coordinated training exercise conducted by militia units for training purposes. These are often simulations conducted in open areas that will enable us to take your class training and implement it in the field.

Field Uniform

BDU's, Woodland Camo

The exact type of uniform will depend on environment, the season, as well as if the member served in the military. You will need a field jacket with a liner, extra heavy wool socks, a pair of gloves, black combat boots, boonie hat, Class III Helmet, and a patrol cap. All patches are to be worn to state standards.

We want every member in the community to be prepared for natural disasters, Search & Rescue, and any grid-down situation. As a member of OHMM you will learn the following skills during Field Training Exercises (FTX):

Military Training Including:
- Firearms
- Small Unit Tactics
- Camouflage Techniques

- Radios & Communications

- Winter Survival

- Military bearing & protocols

FTX’s are typically held once a month and officially run from 0900 Saturday to 1200 on Sunday. Most members arrive Friday evenings (this is a great way to meet others from around the state in a more relaxed atmosphere). There are also FTX's that are held at local parks and only on Saturday. There are also monthly Meet & Greets, and you may bring anyone you wish to either event.

Other Area of Training Include:

Bush craft & Survival

Prepping

Farming & Gardening

Land Navigation

Water Purification

Firestarting

Canning & Food Storage

First Aid & CPR
